Respect

|| श्री ||

      I am a very reserved person and I do not share my thoughts with anyone that easily. But now a day's my thought process is changing and I am trying to be open with life and it's elements as much as I can. Using this phase of my mind I thought I should share one more incident of my life that made everyone feel why you took this step in your life. I want to answer that question now.

      Since I am trying to understand Swami Vivekananda and reading about him I am starting with the quote from him and will come to that after the story. He said "If you want good for your countryman, you may see thousands of defect in them but mark their Hindu blood. They are the first gods you will have to worship. even if they do everything to hurt you, even if every one of them sends out a curse to you, you send out to them words of love. If they drive you out, retire to die in silence like that mighty lion, Govind Singh. Such a man is worthy of the name of Hindu, such an ideal ought to be before us always."

      This is a story of the year 2012 when my father was not having a job for the last 10 years and my mother used to work for a patsanstha ( Pandit Deendayal Nagri Patsanstha, Ahmednagar). She was mainly engaged in taking deposits (savings, pigmy, FDs, RDs). She used to make around Rs. 3000 to 3500 depending upon deposits. In this money, we were running our home of 4 people and one dog whose name is Dolly.

      I graduated from college in the year 2008 then I got admission for masters in 2008 and did complete my masters in 2010. How I got into Masters I will tell that story later sometime because my father was not ready or rather he was not strong financially to support my education but luckily I got masters done. In Jan 2010 I got selected for an internship with USA based company but they have an office in Ahmednagar, MH, India.

      I started my Internship and the good thing was they were paying for the Internship. When I did Masters on that time students were paying for the internship to the company, because it was hard to get into the industry without experience.  Means I started getting a salary of Rs 1200.

      Till the year 2011 when one incident with my mother happened, I started getting a salary of Rs. 2500. For me, it's a double of increment in the year only.  I was very happy. I would like to emphasize that I don't want anyone to hurt that's why I am keeping all names and locations secret.

      It was a very normal day in our life and my mother was getting ready to go to a city where it's gonna be a family function. Usually, whenever there is a family function my aunts and my mother goes together. This time also they went together for that event by state transport. The event was good my all of the relatives were there. On those days the only handful of my relatives had their own vehicle. After a day-long event, my mother and aunts thought now let's go back to home. At that moment one of my relatives asked my aunts to come in their car. My mother also thought that they invited her to because they were all together.  When she was about to sit in the car they said to my mother that there will not be space (even though there was a space in the car) if you sit in the car why don't you come by bus and we will take you somewhere some other day.

      She felt disrespectful / humiliated on that time she cried and came by herself to home. When she arrived she was normal by then. But this clearly shows people respect only money, not person. She was sharing her experience with my father and somehow I listened to that incident. My father was trying to convince her and asking her to let go of things.

     On that day I thought I should talk to that person who did this. But I thought that will not be a good thing. With this incident year, 2012 came and I became a full-time employee in the company and I started getting revised salary Rs. 16000 per month. six to seven months passed after I became fulltime, but that incident was still in my mind. On 1st September 2012, I decided that I want a car and I started my search how I will buy a car and how I will manage it.

      Finally, I bought the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R VSX model for around Rs. 4,30,000 on the day of Ganesh Visharjan 29th Sep 2012. I got a loan for this and I ended up paying Rs. 9000  of EMI. That was the time everybody said why you did this? Why you bought a car instead of this you would have invested in somewhere else. But happiness on my father's and mother's face was not more than an investment in the world.

      In our family there was a custom when there is anything new you buy or anything happens to you, you got to show that to a monk which our family worship. After I got this car, I showed car and took that monk to ride. On those days that monk was having Toyota Fortuner it's a premium SUV car. Only politicians in India can afford this. Monk asked me how much you buy this car? I said around 4 lakhs. Then after a pause, monk replied mine is for 28 lakhs and I can buy 7 cars like yours. I did not understand the context until today. This I will leave up to you all readers to answer me.

I never told this story to anyone why did I took that step and invested in the vehicle.

    Since I started reading about great persons from history I realized that this was not at all necessary. Means I bought a car that was a good thing but I bought that to take revenge is not a good thing. Swami Ji rightly quoted (Above quote) "even if they do everything to hurt you, even if every one of them sends out a curse to you, you send out to them words of love. If they drive you out, retire to die in silence like that mighty lion, Govind Singh".

Hoping I will follow the righteous path and give respect to each and every individual living being in my life going forward.

With Father
With Mother and brother.

Father: Best Guru in My Life

 || श्री ||  This is my first blog post on the day when I lost my Guru, my father, exactly 4 years ago. I am not a writer by nature, or by profession but I thought I should share my thoughts about my father which I saw as a Guru for how someone can live a life. I am sharing one instance which shows how he was guiding and building his children and giving them samskars.  Lots of people now can say after the recent events occurred in our life, that these kids are not samskarit. Or my father failed in giving good teachings as a human being.  Everyone has someone as a GURU in their life and they look that person as a mentor or as a pure soul which can lead them towards enlightenment. My father somehow tried to find one and he found I would say 50% in one monk but even that did not encouraged my father to devote his life to something that the monk was doing.   I would like to quote Swami Vivekanand here. He who can understand and spea...
